Working with a major law firm: what they say

Adam Leviton leads the marketing and business development for several practices within the giant law firm Hogan Lovells Cadwallader. So, when he was planning a global offsite he asked me to lead the morning sessions to create the biggest impact and ensure the gathering really made a difference.

Here’s what he said about the result.

"Stuart ran two workshops at our global offsite — one on what it actually takes to work as a team rather than a group, the other on sharpening the story we tell in the market.

Both landed because he didn't let us off with the easy answers.

In the teamship session, people introduced each other — sharing what they'd actually heard about their colleagues' expertise and reputation — so that for the first time, people across the firm knew who to call and what they were genuinely best at, not just what their title said.

In the storytelling session, he got us to build sharper stories for our best clients — pinning down exactly why this firm is the right fit for them — so we could focus our energy on the clients who matter most and be clear on why they should choose us over anyone else.

Leadership and participants were unanimous: this wasn't a feel-good offsite exercise, it changed how we talk about ourselves and how we work together day to day.”

He was kind enough to finish off his comments with this thought.

I'd recommend Stuart without hesitation for any organisation that wants sessions with a real edge, not just a nice day out."

Reach out if you are planning an offsite or training programme which needs to have an edge.

Thank you, Adam.
